I am devoted to serving adolescents, adults, and families with a solution-focused approach.  I employ a range of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Person-Centered Therapy. My approach is flexible, adapting to the unique needs and goals of each client, and grounded in the latest research and best practices in the field of mental health. Over the last 24 years, I have practiced in the Charlotte area in a crisis call center, psychiatric ER, private & group practice, telehealth services and school settings including a private school specializing in learning differences.

Common Focuses of Therapy

anxiety, depression, OCD, mood disorders, guiding family members of loved ones with a personality disorder, grief, sensory integration, relational and family conflict, ADHD, life transition difficulties, self discovery, & guiding and supporting college transition and stress.

I am passionate about working with individuals who have neurological disorders (examples-OCD and ADHD) drawing both from personal and professional experiences in the field. My journey has shown me that knowledge is power, particularly when it comes to managing and understanding these complex conditions. Psychoeducation plays a crucial role in this process, as it equips individuals and their families with the necessary tools and insights to navigate the challenges of these disorders. By providing comprehensive education and support, I hope to empower patients to make informed decisions, enhance their quality of life, and foster a deeper understanding of their conditions. This commitment to psychoeducation is important, ensuring that every person I work with receive the knowledge and support they need to grow, learn and thrive. Building a toolbox of strategies and coping mechanisms is crucial to improvement of symptoms and overall well-being.
